Add another show to our returned list! And another one that I feel like I have been waiting forever for! With the way season one left us, I have been anticipating where everyone would be at the start of the second season. And I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Though, I do have a lot of hopes for where this season and the characters will go. Especially when it comes to a few relationships. And I think you know which relationship in particular is the one I’m completely invested in. And keeping my fingers crossed that it will work out. So keep reading for my Will Trent 2×01 review!
Road to Recovery
I was very glad to see that Angie didn’t have any lasting paralysis. With the way they left things, I was definitely worried about what her recovery would look like. Or if she was going to be able to go back to her job at all. But I should have known better than that when it comes to a character like Angie. Nothing and nobody has ever or will ever stop her from doing something that she wants. And she has proven time and time again that she loves her job and is extremely good at it. Though it’s clear that she isn’t going to be able to jump right back into the fray the way she would like to. Though I do hope she finds a new doctor to treat her and we don’t ever see this one ever again. Ever.

Wow, the vibes between Luke and Faith were the definition of tense. And also very angsty. So I’m excited to see where that’s going to go. Mike is clearly worried about his daughter’s friend’s father getting with his wife. And while Mike isn’t really one to talk since he and Angie had something going on the side before, I do feel bad about him finding out that she has indeed been having an affair. Clearly, the two of them need to work on their marriage. Preferably before there isn’t one anymore. And from the looks of things, there is a distinct possibility that divorce may be looming in the distance for Mike and his wife.
Intended Target
I absolutely loved seeing Clark Gregg make an appearance. And the case with the car bomb and him actually being the intended target for it definitely had me intrigued. A little cookie cutter high priced area of suburbia isn’t exactly somewhere you would expect a car bomb case. The whole crew certainly had a difficult case on their hands. From one car bomb to another, their hands were full. It seemed every time they figured out something else with the case, there were more and more people involved and everything just continued to go deeper. Good thing every member of this team brings something different to the table that when it’s all put together means they can solve just about anything.
I wasn’t worried about Will figuring things out by any means. The case got a little intense at times, but I think it was just as much because of the agents on it as the case itself. I wasn’t sure how to feel about Cricket. Her interest in Will seemed almost predatory. I’m all for women taking the initiative and destroying the standards of men asking women out. But damn. The woman hadn’t even known him five minutes and was pursuing him so heavily. Besides, his comment to Angie about how trying to see other people sucks lets me know that he knows he and Angie are the ones that belong together. They don’t belong with other people.
Lack of Ethics
Cricket made it clear she was a bit of a fangirl when it came to Will. But she was also clearly good at her job and an extremely competent agent. Her interest in Will and him asking her out did have me concerned though. The last thing the two of them need is one more person getting between whatever it is they decide they have going on. Or where they are going. Which damn well better be somewhere romantic. Don’t even get me started on the doctor. What is it with doctors in these shows getting with their patients?! I’m getting some real Magnum PI vibes here. But I certainly didn’t expect or want to see her killed! Though it did prove that she was absolutely dedicated to saving others because she completely sacrificed herself with that bomb.
