Oh, I have so been awaiting the return for this show! I didn’t even discover it until halfway through the first season. But I quickly became a fan and have been ready for it to come back to the screen. Especially since we got left with the damn cliffhanger at the end of the first season. So thank goodness it was renewed! I’m so ready for this season to take off and I can’t wait to see what is comin g next with Sir and Gabi. And also with Gabi and Trent! This episode certainly kicked off the season in the right direction and with plenty of action. So keep reading for my Found 2×01 review!
Nothing More Important
It’s so important that Lacey be found. I spent a little bit genuinely wondering if she was still alive. Part of me knew that she was and that eventually things will be okay. But I’m also worried about what she will go through with Sir in the meantime. And that makes me a little upset with Gabi myself. I know she wasn’t thinking when she did what she did and I know that once she had Sir in her basement, she didn’t know how to fix it. But she is smart enough to know that the longer she kept him down there, the deeper she was digging the hole for herself. Plus, she knows he is smart and manipulative, she had to know that he was going to be spending all the time she left him alone down there searching for a way out.
I know that Lacey is tough and resilient. And I am holding out hope that she is going to make it through what Sir has in store for her. But the last thing she needs is more trauma. She has already been through so much in her life. And while I’m doing my best not to blame Gabi for Sir’s actions, I just can’t help but think that Lacey never would have been targeted if Gabi hadn’t locked up Sir. Honestly, we should consider ourselves lucky that everyone else was able to ultimately be safe from what Sir had planned for them. Though it was a close freaking call for Zeke. Thank goodness Dhan got to him on time and kept his cool enough to save him.
Broken Family
Despite what Gabi did, it was really hard to see the team broken up. Because they really are more like a family than a team. And they rely on each other so much. Not only when searching for those that are missing, but for their lives in general. So seeing them kind of going their own ways hurts. I think there was going to be a rift anyway with Lacey missing. Just because everyone was going to react to that trauma differently. But with the added knowledge of Gabi’s betrayal and the fact that she hid Sir from them, that really changed things. And it didn’t help that Dhan knew about it towards the end and never said anything to the others either.
It just makes things feel like a warzone. As if a line has been drawn and each member of the team had to decide which side of it they were on. So as much as I love some good angst and drama, I don’t love that this is the vibe we are kicking the season off with. Our family deserves better and I can only hope that they find Lacey. Because I think that will be a big catalyst to bringing them all back together again. And bring Sir down of course. That would also help. And maybe even cool some of the anger Trent is now feeling for Gabi. But with how mad he really seems to be, I’m not sure even bringing down Sir is going to fix things.
Messed Up
I understand why Trent is angry with Gabi. And I get that he feels betrayed and lied to. Because, you know, Gabi betrayed and lied to him. But I do feel like we need to give Gabi a little bit of a break. Not completely, because clearly she did really wrong in a lot of ways and what she did was messed up. She should have told Trent the truth at the very least, though she shouldn’t have kept Sir down there to begin with. But it clearly has everything to do with the trauma he caused her and it was something she felt she had to do. Gabi felt the safest when she felt she had Sir under control, even if she really never did. And she doesn’t need Trent to tell her she messed up. I think that has been made abundantly clear to her.
