'Chicago Med' 10x03

‘Chicago Med’ 10×03 Review: “Trust Fall”

This was another episode with a lot going on. Med is not wasting any time just getting right into things this season. And that means it’s impossible to cover all of the points of each episode. So I definitely focus on my favorites and on the parts that annoyed me the most. Because I need some of these characters to get their shit together. Looking at you, Mitch and Caitlin, looking at you. Also, can we stop being mean to Hannah?! Jeez. From being yelled at by Mitch to being questioned about if her position is necessary, she couldn’t catch a break this episode! So keep reading for my Chicago Med 10×03 review!

Right or Wrong

I don’t know if Hannah was in the right or wrong for what she did. But I do wonder how Mitch would feel if Sully confessed on his own without Hannah’s influence? Would it be ok if he came to the right decision on his own instead of Hannah telling him? I agree that he should be with his child, but I also agree that he did something terrible. And as much as it sucks that he has put himself in a position to be away from his son, actions have consequences. Since he was the one who did it, I’m not really sure if I feel he should be around his son. Maybe he isn’t a danger directly to his son. But stabbing someone is not exactly a shining example of being able to control yourself. I also have to give Sully some credit. Even he knew that Hannah did what she did for the right reasons. So why can’t you see it, Mitch?

So while I understand Mitch feeling betrayed by Hannah, she didn’t force Sully. She just told him the truth and let him decide what the right thing to do was. He still could have chosen to stay silent. But she wasn’t wrong about what it would do to Mitch to be found guilty of doing it and taking the fall for Sully. Mitch can be in denial as much as he wants, but the truth is he would have lost everything. All the work and time he put into his education and his career would be for nothing. All for something he didn’t do. Just because he didn’t want someone to take accountability for their own actions? Sorry, but I’m on Hannah’s side with this one.

Tense Situations

I’m not the biggest fan of Caitlin at the moment as I think she needs to tone things down a little bit. But I appreciated Archer stepping in and telling Mitch how things are going to be. He needed to hear that he could shape up or ship out. I understand that he’s upset, but he’s also a doctor who is at work. So he needs to put aside everything going on in his personal life or he needs to not be at work. Well done, Archer! Part of me is also hopeful that he stepped in because he and Caitlin have made some kind of positive progress. At least that seemed to be the direction they were going in last week. Hopefully they continue gaining ground with each other instead of losing it. Maybe her easing up on the threatening behaviors would help.

I was definitely surprised when Sharon received a death threat. It was pretty graphic too. I know that she can be a little difficult to handle sometimes and I definitely don’t always agree with her decisions. But she also steps in and steps up when she needs to. And she was doing her best in this episode to take on the board. She was trying to help her people. And even if she was a typical administrator or if she did only care about money, she still wouldn’t deserve to be threatened like that. Or at all. And honestly, she handled that situation in stride as well.

Bedside Manner

I loved that Maggie stepped up for Elise. Not that I’m surprised since Maggie always appears and saves the day. But I appreciate that she always shares her own knowledge, experience, and perspectives. She gave Hannah some much needed insight. And I definitely think it had a positive impact on how she handled Elise and her case. But I also appreciated that Elise was keeping an eye on her own care and advocating for herself as much as she could. And I think that Hannah did a great job with Elise and her baby. But when she ultimately lost Elise, it had me bawling. Hannah did everything that she could. Everything. So I’m going to need Caitlin to take a huge step back and leave Hannah alone. Why do you have to make it so hard to like you, Caitlin?
