It was great to see the Game Maker storyline get resolved! At least I’m hoping that’s the end of anything related to that. It gives me a little pause just because it seemed like it wrapped up a little too quickly and easily. So I have a sinking feeling that at some point in the future we are going to see him again. But fingers crossed that we don’t! Meanwhile the rest of the team was split between catching the guy and looking for Roman. So keep reading for my High Potential 2×02 review and let me know your thoughts on everything that went down in the comments!
Game Over
I shouldn’t have found the interrogation scene with Matthew so freaking hilarious but I really did. The way that Morgan was getting worked up and wouldn’t stop texting Karadec. And then the way she called him Adam had me cackling. Not calling the man by his government name, girl. Even when they are heated and beginning to get frustrated with each other, they still have the gentle snark with each other and a smirk here and there to soften the hit of the words. And that’s just one of the many reasons why they make such a great team and I never had a doubt that they were going to catch Matthew. Though I will say if I didn’t know he was the culprit already, I may have doubted it. The dude is stone cold at almost every moment. Emphasis on the almost.

Of course Morgan was the one who not only figured out what was happening, but was able to get the Game Maker to crack. She may have had a moment where she felt like she couldn’t beat him, but I think it was only a moment. And I’m sure it was that moment that gave her the idea to let him think she was going to give up and let him win. As soon as she was able to take a second and regroup, she put the pieces together and handled that shit like a boss. And I really appreciated that after everything Matthew had put Morgan and her family through, Karadec and the others let her be the one to tell him he was about to go down. And then they let Oz be the one to put the cuffs on and read him his list of charges.
Danger and Traps
Just because everything seemed to wrap up quickly at the end, didn’t mean that it was an easy journey. Sure, Matthew is great at planning things out, obviously. And the chances were good that Morgan and Karadec wouldn’t be in the car when it exploded. But chances to succeed also mean chances to fail. So I’m glad that they were not only not in the car but weren’t close enough to it to get hurt. I hated the team being split up with all the chaos happening and not knowing what was going to happen next and who was going to be targeted. But I was glad that everything turned out for the best. And we kind of got a clue as to where Roman might be. Maybe.
Arthur is definitely a mystery and I’m not sure exactly what side of the legal line he falls on. But I have a feeling that he tends to walk that line. One thing is for sure, it seems the deeper we get into the Roman mystery, the thicker the plot gets. With every answer the team gets, there seem to be at least three more questions and it has me feeling like it may not be something that will be wrapped up this season either. I’m fine with the overall storyline of the season being about Roman, but I also hope that can be another one that gets wrapped up. Then Morgan can be part of the team because she wants to be. Not for any other promises or favors. Just because she is good at what she does and loves it.
Now What
There was so much excitement and unknowns with the Game Maker storyline that I don’t know how I will adjust! Part of me hopes that we go back to our typical case of the week. But the other part feels like something needs to happen to keep the momentum going as well. The Game Maker storyline really showed the team dynamic and strengthened their relationships. So I definitely want to see cases that emphasize and build on that for the rest of the season. I want to see more of Oz and Daphne. And when the heck is Steve Howey going to enter the scene?! I need to know what kind of character he is going to play. And how he is going to make waves with the team.

Are you as happy as I am that the Game Maker was caught? Do you think this is the last we are going to see of him? Or are you also worried that he is going to make another appearance in the future? What did you think of the Roman storyline? Were you bummed that it wasn’t actually Roman Daphne and Oz found? Or did you know that it wasn’t going to be that easy? When do you think we are going to meet Steve Howey’s character? Find and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to talk all things High Potential 2×02!
