Disney Joins Hurricane Dorian Relief Efforts

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Dorian. It has been a devastating tragedy and left many feeling lost. But there is always light at the end of the tunnel and those that bring hope. Disney can certainly be classified as such, and this event is no different.

How Disney is Helping

The Walt Disney Company has decided to donate a million dollars toward relief and recovery from Hurricane Dorian. Their money will be going to the non-profit organizations that will be heading the charge of rebuilding and recovery.

Other non-profit organizations that will be receiving the donation money will be heading up food and other provisional supplies for those impacted. But that isn’t all Disney is doing. They have many employees that live in The Bahamas and in true Disney fashion, they are going out of their way to show support.

Those employed by The Walt Disney Company will have access to any resources they may need to begin rebuilding. Disney’s private island in The Bahamas, Castaway Cay, also experienced effects of the hurricane.

What You Can Do

Facebook’s Crisis Response has been set up so those impacted by Hurricane Dorian can mark themselves as safe. Anyone keeping an eye on the news has probably noticed the amount of utter devastation the hurricane has left in its wake and many may be feeling compelled to do something.

If so, there are already many relief funds and efforts that you can donate to. The Grand Bahama Disaster Relief fund has been started by The Grand Bahama Port Authority, and you can donate here. The American Red Cross has also begun a relief fund that you can donate to here.
