Wow, things were pretty freaking intense this week! On top all of the wild cases coming in, we had parents wanting to lie to their son about his diagnosis. But in a surprising turn of events, John went against their wishes and told his patient the truth. And I give him all the credit for doing so. He totally did the right thing. And he is moving his way up my list of favorite characters in the process. Plus, we had Mitch facing an impromptu hearing with less than favorable results, and Caitlin and Archer still driving each other crazy. Even though they were forced to see that they actually work really well together. So keep reading for my Chicago Med 10×02 review!
The Truth Will Set You Free
I’m so glad that Hannah and Mitch seem to be back on track with each other. So I’m going to need for Mitch to just tell the truth about the attack. Because if he doesn’t, there is just going to be more trouble for him. I really don’t want to see him face anymore disciplinary action. And I do agree with Dr. Charles that he is being treated not so great and possibly railroaded. I don’t always love the decisions that Dr. Charles makes. There have been plenty of times where I have been frustrated with his behaviors and decisions. But this time around, I really appreciated that he was in Mitch’s corner. Especially when it came to Goodwin. And I’m really mad that he ended up getting suspended. Things better get cleared up and allow him to get back to work ASAP! They look like they might be with the way it ended. But it also looked like things between him and Hannah might go bad. Again.

Speaking of Sharon, She’s another one that I often find myself on the fence with. One moment she is doing something great like jumping in and acting as a nurse in an emergency. But then in the next moment she is acting like Daniel was supposed to break confidence and tell her not to hire Mitch. That sounds to me that she is assuming he is guilty already. Which kind of goes against him being able to plead his case. And giving him the opportunity to tell the truth. Maybe instead of assuming he is the bad guy, she could talk to him. Show him some compassion and allow him to feel comfortable enough to tell the truth.
Mysterious Cases
This episode was full of strange cases. And people making what seem to be terrible decisions. Kendall’s case was a doozy. Things definitely seemed strange from the start and I will be honest, there were plenty of different scenarios going through my head. I wondered if Bryce was abusive and pushed her down the stairs, and then quickly threw that out. Then I wondered if Kendall had hit her head. But the team figured it out and it made total sense. Kendall was having a serious mental health crisis. Just because she wasn’t outwardly saying or doing anything that could get her put on a hold, she was free to leave AMA. Endangering herself and her child. Unfortunately, her symptoms did get worse and she ended up back in the hospital. But Hannah saved the day. The prognosis wasn’t perfect. But it was hopeful.
The cadet case had me a little freaked out. That is certainly not what I was expecting when she began having trouble breathing. Then we had Tyler, who couldn’t stop throwing up. And of course they ended up being connected. Which the incredible Naomi was the one to notice. And the one who was able to get Archer and Caitlin to work together. So well done, Naomi. Because it was all thanks to her that both patients turned out okay and that Caitlin and Archer proved they actually make a pretty impressive team. If only they could get past their own frustration with one another and lean into that potential.
Butting Heads
I really want to like Caitlin. And not just because I love Sarah Ramos, though that is also true. But because I think we need a strong female to help with things in the hospital. I think she could really do wonders and help make Chicago Medical Center even better. But she isn’t going to be able to do that if she does nothing but run around and ruffle everyone’s feathers. Especially Dean, who is just trying to do his best. And I think everyone is at a point where they can easily butt heads with Sharon. Not only is she the one that brought Caitlin on to share Dean’s job without telling him, but she is also doing a ton of layoffs. I know that isn’t completely on her or her fault, but she sure doesn’t seem to be trying to prevent it either.
