Catch Me If You Claus

‘Catch Me If You Claus” Review

It’s time for another Hallmark movie premiere! And I’m sure you’re completely shocked that it’s another Christmas-themed one. While I am pretty much always a fan of the Christmas movies that come out every year, this year has felt exceptionally great. But that could also be due to us actually getting forty-two new movies for this holiday season. And while I can’t wait for the return of the mysteries that I hope are going to be coming in the new year, I’m good with biding my time until then with holiday movies. Especially if they are as great as this one. So keep reading for my Catch Me If You Claus review!

Naughty or Nice List

We all know there are plenty of ways to end up on the naughty list. And I’m pretty sure holding Santa’s son is up there pretty high. To be fair, Avery was pretty sure that he was an intruder, and I can’t really blame her for that because I would feel the same way. Also, I have to give her major kudos for being resourceful and completely badass with tying Chris up so well. She had him trussed up like a turkey and watching him struggle to escape from her industrial strength garland was absolutely hilarious. She made it clear she wasn’t a woman to be messed with, and I can appreciate and respect that. You go, Avery!

I can also appreciate that Avery wasn’t too keen on taking Chris at his word that he was Santa Claus’s son. Because that would be crazy. And Chris wasn’t exactly doing a great job of selling his case to her at the beginning. But as he showed her what he was capable of and who he really was, it didn’t take long for Avery to realize that Chris was the real deal. I’ll give him a break for not exactly explaining himself well in the beginning since he was not expecting to be tied up with Christmas lights and garland. And it really wasn’t their fault that they were mistaken as the actual bandits since they did kind of look like them.

Not the Easiest Job

Chris and Avery were both not having the best of times. Between Avery struggling to get the anchor job she so desperately wanted and Chris trying to live up to the Santa name, there were plenty of struggles. Then there was the matter of some thieves and Avery and Chris being wrongfully framed for theft. Now it’s a recipe for disaster. And one that had a very limited window of time to be fixed. Because Avery and Chris also both had some pretty serious deadlines to meet. They both had some seriously ambitious goals for some jobs that weren’t the easiest. But they found just what they needed to get their jobs done by working together.

While this movie was adorable and played on the magical side of Christmas, it was also just really great. The chemistry between Italia and Luke was incredible and their banter was *chef’s kiss*. Plus, they’re both extremely talented and know how to keep me hooked. Even if there was such a great mixture of comedy, romance, and action it was easy to stay hooked. Having Italia and Luke certainly made it even better. Plus, it’s nice to sit back and immerse yourself in a movie all about the magic of Christmas. At least that’s what I think. And it’s always nice to sit and watch a Hallmark movie that you know is going to have a happy ending.

Hallmark Strong

I could not have loved the matchup between Italia Ricci and Luke Macfarlane more! Their characters played off one another amazingly and there were plenty of times they had me absolutely cracking up. And while they are pretty great all around, their facial expression game was so strong. They are both so talented and I always love seeing Luke Macfarlane keeping his Hallmark game strong. But with that being said, Catch Me If You Claus has also shown me that we need more Italia Ricci Hallmark movies. Because four is not nearly enough. I think a mystery series with her as the lead would be absolutely phenomenal!
