It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like… Halloween

Here at Cape & Castle, we love to celebrate all of the holidays. But we’ve got to be honest and let you know that Halloween is pretty close to the top for us! So now that networks and streaming platforms have sent down some of their schedules for this year’s lineup, it’s time for us to get excited about what’s coming! And time for us to get you all as excited as we are! So read on below for what 2021 is bringing us for tricks and treats!

Netflix Bringing the Chills

Netflix is going to be gracing us this October! You season three is set to premiere later in the month and the second season of Lock & Key will be coming as well! The streaming platform will also be bringing some original films to give a great big dose of screams throughout October. There’s Someone Inside Your House is set to premiere on October 6th. And there’s a very good chance it will give out some free nightmares.

Other original titles coming out for the spookfest are Fever Dream, Night Teeth, and Hypnotic. And yes, we think they are going to be as terrifying as they sound. As far as previously released titles, Netflix is bringing back some classics. From Ghost to Insidious Chapter 2, The Devil Inside, The Cave, and so many more in between, Netflix is going to have plenty to keep us occupied!

Hallowstream Returns

Disney Plus certainly isn’t letting us down when it comes to Halloween 2021! Some pretty cool things are coming our way from them this year! LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales is kicking things off on October 1st followed by The Muppets’ Haunted Mansion on October 8th! And a treat for R.L. Stine fans young and old comes Just Beyond, a new anthology series premiering October 13th!

But don’t forget about the classics! We highly recommend watching Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and of course, the entire Halloweentown franchise! Between Disney Plus, the Disney Channel, and Disney Junior, there isn’t an age group left behind this Halloween!

AMC FearFest

AMC’s FearFest is usually one of the more terrifying sources of entertainment during the holiday season. They’ll be kicking things off on October 1st and going all month long. This year they’ll also be bringing us the second season of Creepshow along with another season of Eli Roth’s History of Horror. But prepare yourself for old favorites as well! New episodes of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead,  and The Walking Dead: World Beyond will also be around this month!

Halloween

AMC is going to give you the Halloween lineup with some Annabelle and Orphan thrown in! But there’s also going to be plenty more with chillers like Thirteen Ghosts, The Crazies, The Hills Have Eyes, House of Wax, Carrie, and Pet Sematary! Added slasher bonus of the Scream franchise along with the Final Destination franchise. We know we’ll be spending a lot of time on this channel!

Syfy and Halloween

Syfy’s 31 Days of Halloween is back once again this year! Day of the Dead is making its return with a new 10-episode series! This will premiere on October 15th! Other than that, we don’t have much news about any original or new programming because it seems the network is keeping things under wraps for now.

Halloween

They are also keeping the schedule under wraps at the moment. But we’re sure we can expect some classics to be making their appearance on the network. We’re expecting things like the Wrong Turn franchise, Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and the Jeepers Creepers trilogy. There’s also a good chance classics like Exorcist and Candyman will be popping up. But only time will tell!

Freeform’s 31 Nights

Freeform will once again be doing the 31 Nights of Halloween! We’re sure you know some of what’s going to be on it. But just in case, we can remind you! Expect classics like Hocus Pocus, Casper, Ghostbusters, and Matilda! And you know The Addams Family is going to make several appearances!

Halloween

But there are also going to be some things new to Freeform like Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Fright Night, some of the Jaws franchise, along with Halloween-themed episodes of Family Guy and The Simpsons! And you know Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas are going to be present and accounted for!

Hulu and More

Okay so maybe it’s not exactly a Halloween series, but getting the entire Castle series on the 6th is pretty amazing! And it is a show about murders, so there’s that. Plus, they have some spooky-themed episodes! But a terrifying new movie, Censor will hit Hulu on the 14th! The Evil Next Door is also coming on October 21st! Gaia is coming on the 22nd and it will be terrifying. Old favorites like Double, Double, Toil, and Trouble and Flatliners will also be coming in! Along with Mad Max, Queen of the Damned, Signs, The Village, Cheer Camp Killer, A Murder to Remember, and plenty more!

Halloween

What do you think of the October lineup coming our way this year? Are you as excited about it as we are? Which movies or series are you looking forward to the most? What movie classics are your favorite? Any guilty pleasure movies you just can’t help but watch year after year no matter how cheesy they are? We will admit that we watch the Scream franchise a lot. Like, a lot. Find and follow us on Twitter @capeandcastle to share all of your favorite movies to watch in October and for Halloween! You can find me on Twitter @Sarah_Jeanne17!
