There was an audience this time after the pandemic kept them out last season. However, they were family members of all of the celebrity pros.

Melanie C is partnered with Gleb Savchenko to the Cha Cha in her first performance. Their dance came alongside her hit song “Wannabe” with the Spice Girls. For her first time on the dance floor, she did a great job, although the music pacing seemed to be a little off. However, she looked completely thrilled to be on the dance floor and as a Spice Girls fan, it was a pleasure to watch! Her first scores were 3 7’s and a ^, leading to a total of 27 points out of 40.

Next up was The Miz and his partner is Witney Carson. He also danced the Cha Cha and he did a great job as well! It’s clear he gets along well with Witney and they had fun in their first round. He completely impressed the judges and it was clear Witney loved being back to work. His score came out to 24 points out of 40.

Basketball player Iman Shumpert was up next and he is paired up with Daniela Karagach. His dance of the night was the Jive. Their Jive was so much fun to watch and you can tell they were just enjoying themselves. There were some constructive comments about the technique of the dance itself. But for his first dance, he did his best. Iman definitely has more chances for improvement. His score came out to 21 points out of 40.

Country music star Jimmie Allen was the next star to dance and his partner is Emma Slater. Their first dance was the Tango. For their dance, it was met with praise and he did do a great job. Even though there were some things to work on, Jimmie really brought his A-game for the first week and we’re sure he will have fun with future dances he does. His score came out to 22 out of 40 points.
