WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
Five Years is a Long Time
Okay, does Sam know the meaning of subtle? Because from the looks of how he came in hot pretty much immediately after being told that, we don’t think so. But we did also enjoy watching him kick some ass. And we absolutely were doing our own fist-pumping in excitement like Torres. What did not have us fist-pumping was Sam not being able to secure a loan. Seriously?! The man is a hero, a literal superhero, and he can’t secure a freaking bank loan? The bank should be throwing their money at him. It isn’t Sam’s fault that he didn’t earn any income for five years! What did the bank really expect him to do? We’re going to stay mad about this, we just know it.

From the moment the Flag Smashers were mentioned, we hated them. But who in their right mind actually preferred things during the period of time after the snap?! Or the five-year Blip if you prefer. Apparently, these psychos do and we cannot wait to see Sam and Bucky kick their asses. We also get why Sam gave Captain America’s shield over for display in the museum. It’s a heavy crown to wear and Sam isn’t feeling ready. But it was awesome to see Rhodey! We’ve missed him! And we’re hoping that we get to see a lot more cameos as the series goes on. But along with the bank not giving Sam a loan, we’re also going to stay and about the government just handing over the shield to someone else. No thanks.
Hurting and Healing
Bucky is clearly weighed down by the guilt of the past. And it was absolutely heartwrenching to see the nightmares Bucky has been dealing with. But don’t ignore Sam’s calls, man! While we understand Bucky wanting to make amends, he can’t punish himself forever. And by living next door to the father of an innocent student that got caught in the crossfire when Bucky was a Hydra assassin, punishing himself is exactly what Bucky is doing. Watching Bucky during his counseling session was pretty great though. And his date. Plus the fact that Yori asked her out for Bucky! We love Bucky’s dry sense of sarcastic humor. And it’s clear that Bucky and Sam need each other and we’re excited to see them figure that out.
