30 Days of Thanks 2020: ‘Modern Family’
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the day than to talk about Modern Family! We’re so grateful for the show and the many seasons we got to enjoy this family. Plus, they always had some pretty kickass Turkey Day celebrations. And we couldn’t resist using today to talk about them! So keep reading for today’s 30 Days of Thanks, honoring Modern Family!
Too Much Family Time
The Dunphy-Pritchett family tends to spend a lot of time together. And while this is awesome, we can completely understand how there are times when it can just feel like too much. If you come from a big family where you all live close to one another, we’re sure you’ve felt the same now and again. It doesn’t mean you love your family any less, but everyone could use a bit of alone time. So we totally understood when Jay and Gloria tried their best to sneak away that one Thanksgiving.

It’s one thing for big families to come together just for the holidays. But families like the Dunphy-Pritchett family seem to always be together. It’s like they travel in a horde. Sometimes it’s awesome, but other times it can be a little much. Like when a new member or two of the family decide to give making the turkey a try and others think it’s best to have a backup turkey just in case. You know what we’re talking about. Even if you’ve never experienced the exact scenario, we’re still sure you’ve seen things like it with other families, if not your own.
Holiday Arguments
Often, when a family gets together during any type of holiday, arguments can ensue. While these aren’t always a huge deal and can generally be solved once dinner is served, that certainly isn’t the case with this family. Because when an argument breaks out, things get serious. So serious that the family splits into two different factions and takes a trip just to try and prove the other side wrong. We’ve all been there.
This family has given us plenty of Thanksgiving escapades over the years. Like the game of pumpkin slingshot. We thought about incorporating that into our own holidays. But then we decided against it since the motto turned out to be that it was all fun and games until your pumpkin smashes into a car. Then it’s really not so great. So maybe if we do decide to ever play that game, we’ll take it to a nice big open field. Where we don’t have to worry about things like that.
Remember That Time…
You all remember that time with the deep-fried turkey, right? That whole nightmarish incident? You know the one. Where the goat literally ran right into that wall and died? Yep. Good times, good times. It really was no wonder that Jay had high blood pressure that year. Or any year, actually. We love this family beyond words. But sometimes, they can be a lot. Though it does make us feel better to know that our families aren’t the only ones that are a little crazy and get a little out of control at times. Or a lot out of control all of the time. We love them all just the same, anyway! And we’ll always be grateful for this show and being able to watch the kids and other family members grow over the years!
