‘DWTS’ 29×04 Episode Review: “Top 13”

This week on Dancing With The Stars, the remaining couples used personal experiences to talk about what has led them to where they are today. In a night of grace, there was also a stunning twist at the end due to technical errors. As it happens, when confusion and mistakes happen, there are questions of who caused it, but as it is live TV, it is expected that everyone will do the best they can in any given situation. Let’s talk about some of the most talked-about performances of the DWTS among the 13 contestants.

While host Tyra Banks was reading off who was safe from elimination, it was eventually discovered that due to an error in the control room, she had the incorrect information on who was in the bottom two. Despite the mix-up, Banks was able to gracefully move forward, apologizing to those affected.

Unfortunately, the celebrity sent home was Anne Heche and her partner, Keo Motsepe. Heche opened up about her 3 and a half year relationship with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and how a decision to bring her on the red carpet led to a halt in her career. Her performance brought her good scores, but ultimately, the judges voted to save Monica Aldama and Val Chmerkoviskiy.

One of the most moving dances of the night came from Skai Jackson and Alan Bernsten. Her performance was in tribute to her Jessie co-star Cameron Boyce, who tragically passed away last year after suffering a seizure in his sleep. Her moving performance brought tears (same, girl) to Carrie Anne Inaba’s eyes, who awarded her the first 10 of the season.

Larger Than Life

Another exciting dance came from AJ McLean, who danced with the virtual versions of his Backstreet Boys bandmates. His fun performance earned him the 8’s he wished for last week!

There were so many amazing performances this week on DWTS. Of course, there are technical things the celebrities need to work on, but that’s what the show is about, right? They are all having fun as well, as you can see especially from Nelly, whose Paso Doble showed off his biceps and how happy he looked on the dance floor.

Bring it back to the 80’s

Next week will be 80’s night and we’re already looking forward to what they have cooking for us. Will we get some David Bowie? Prince? Michael Jackson? We can’t wait! Who are you rooting for after this week?
