Smart House

Who didn’t want to live in the Smart House when they were younger? Honestly, that was one of my main wishes as a kid. You know, other than the part at the end where the house comes to life and goes crazy…

Up, Up, and Away

The first superhero movie I ever actually watched. This movie was admittedly not the best movie of the genre. But it was still a pretty heartwarming story. Think of it as a knock off version of Sky High (even though this one technically came first).

Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (Trilogy)

Did anyone else actually stay up on New Year’s Eve 1999 just so they could watch the premiere of this classic? I sure did! And zoom, zoom, zoom, it made my heart go boom, boom, boom for my supernova girl! It’s a trilogy, so clear an afternoon and have a good time major!

The Thirteenth Year

Now, I might be just a little biased here since one of my favorite movies was The Little Mermaid, but I absolutely loved the idea of a cute boy turning into a merman. The fact that he was already a swimmer kinda made it a perfect scenario and a great escape during quarantine.

Halloweentown Franchise

The movie that taught us all that “being normal is vastly overrated!”. This is a must-watch favorite every single year. Then they came out with 3 sequels! (Admittedly, I didn’t care for the final one when they replaced Kimberly J. Brown, but still).

Camp Rock and Camp Rock: Final Jam

This movie probably stuck well with me for several reasons. Number one being that I had just gotten back from summer camp myself when it premiered, so I was still perfectly in that mood to enjoy it. Number two, obviously, the Jonas Brothers! Summer camp, music, JoBros, what’s not to love?

High School Musical Trilogy

This one literally shaped our generation and you cannot tell me otherwise! The countless number of sing-a-long and dance-a-long events that Disney Channel did for this movie series was fantastic. The only thing about this series that perplexes me is why they used Drew Seeley’s voice for Zac Efron in the first movie instead of just casting him in the first place. Though, I’m not complaining, since that movie probably jump-started Zac’s career and left us all much better off!

The Cheetah Girls Trilogy

These movies are absolutely cheetah-licious! If we didn’t think that cheetah print was awesome before, we certainly did after watching these movies with this awesome batch of girls! I bet you’ll even remember all the words to all the songs once you start watching the movies again. BET!

Go Figure

Back when it was super cool to be a figure skater (it’s always been cool, but that’s not the point) this movie was absolutely the best. Not only did it showcase the glorious life of a skater, but it also was kind of the teenage version of The Cutting Edge that also showed girls can do anything boys can do!

Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off

That classic story of a boy having to choose between sports and something he loves, (like another movie on this list) this tells the story of a baseball player who also happens to be hitting home runs in the kitchen as well. Since I’ve also been bingeing MasterChef, this one is high on my quarantine watchlist!

Cadet Kelly

Remember Lizzie McGuire? Yeah, well, Hilary Duff was kinda busy back in the day. She went to military school and was trained by none other than Kim Possible… or Ren Stevens. Christy Carlson Romano was also quite busy. Anyway, check out this movie, it’s pretty cool and what better time to watch it than quarantine?

Double Teamed

There’s basketball and that freaky twin thing. And really, these girls just reminded me of a set of twins I knew in school so I always thought it was kinda fun to watch when I compared them to the twins I knew!

The Luck of the Irish

Another yearly favorite, this movie made St. Patrick’s Day and added an extra level of fun, on top of the whole “pinching” thing. Plus, the Irish accents were pretty fun! This one was definitely a pot of gold!

The Other Me

A lot of 90’s girls were obsessed with the Lawrence brothers. So when little brother Andrew Lawrence played a Parent Trap a la Lindsay Lohan and pulled double time in this movie, tons of us swooned. Talk about a science experiment gone right!

Rip Girls

Everyone loves a good “find out where you came from” story, right? Plus, there’s surfing! Talk about a win-win!

The Color of Friendship

This movie is one that deals with an issue that is still a hot topic today: race. Now, that seems a little heavy in these already trying times, but I promise that it is still a feel-good movie that is worth the watch!
