SAG Awards 2020: Complete List of Nominees and Winners
With BAFTA and the Oscars just weeks away, awards season is coming to an end — but not before the SAG Awards!
In the 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards, Disney is represented in the following:
- Christian Bale is up for the running of Male Actor in the Leading Role in a Motion Picture for his role in (the now-named) 20th Century’s Ford v Ferrari.
- Avengers: Endgame has been nominated for Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
- To no one’s surprise, (the also now-named) Searchlight Pictures’ Jojo Rabbit received two nods, including Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow).
- Sterling K. Brown (Frozen II) is up for Male Actor in a Drama Series for his role in 20th Television’s This Is Us. (As a matter of fact, yes, This Is Us is actually produced and distributed by Disney.)
Elsewhere, Star Wars alums Adam Driver and Laura Dern, who co-starred in Marriage Story alongside Johansson, have each earned worthy nominations in their respective categories (Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture and Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture). Johansson is also up for Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture for Marriage Story.
Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), who is also of Star Wars fame, also got mentioned in the Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture category for her performance in Us. Peter Dinklage (Avengers: Infinity War), who was snubbed of both a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice, is finally back in the race, with a nod for Male Actor in a Drama Series for Game of Thrones. And then there’s David Harbour, who will be starring in Black Widow with Johansson — he is also nominated for Male Actor in a Drama Series for Stranger Things.
