30 Days of Thanks: Why We’re Thankful for ‘Mulan’
Cape and Castle has decided to express things we’re thankful for this November by doing Thirty Days of Thanks! What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s where we express our thanks for a different character or movie from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars worlds! We’re kicking day 1 off with why we’re thankful for Mulan! Both the movie and the character!
What It Taught Us
We learned so much from Mulan. Not only is she strong and independent, but she puts honor and family at the top of her priorities list. And that’s something we can get behind! She fights for those she loves and for the honor of her family. No matter what the situation is or who tries to tell her she can’t, nothing can stop this powerful woman!
We also learned about how important family is. Even though that may be something we already knew, it’s a lesson that can’t be seen enough. As with many Disney movies, we also learned about love and that it’s absolutely what’s on the inside and how true one’s heart is that’s counts.
What Makes Us Thankful
We are so thankful to have a character like Mulan to look up to. But we also love the amount of heart and emotion that was not only show in this movie, but the amount of emotion and heart watching it brings out in us. No matter how many times we watch it, we are always taken on a beautiful roller coaster of emotions.
And we can’t forget to mention how thankful we are for the other amazing and inspiring characters in Mulan! Yes, we are definitely talking about Mushu and the comedy he brings to every scene he is in. But we can’t talk about comedy without bringing up Yao, Ling, and Chien-Po! They brought such beauty to their comedy and also showed us that even those with extremely different personalities can be best friends. Someone else we are thankful for is Shang. He’s tough and rigid in most of the things he does. But he has a heart of gold and loves fiercely. We swoon every time we see him!
